    El presente artículo desarrolla las relaciones constantes entre pintores y poetas latinoamericanos adscritos a la vanguardia artística durante las primeras décadas del siglo XX en el ámbito argentino, así como en sus vínculos con Europa —Francia en primer lugar, pero también Inglaterra, Alemania y España—, verdaderos movimientos de ida y vuelta que convergen en una creación literaria brillante. Protagonistas de una reacción frente al modernismo, reivindican la unión de palabra y pintura y encuentran en las revistas literarias —Ultra, Grecia, Litoral y Mediodía— y en los manifiestos verdaderos cauces de expresión donde estas minorías persiguen el asentamiento de una estética subjetiva, libre y sin ataduras. Finalmente, se cerrará este recorrido acudiendo al papel fundamental de Maruja Mallo, una personalidad artística que no puede ser obviada al abordar esta cuestión.

    This article develops the constant relations between Latin American painters and poets belonging to the artistic avant-garde during the first decades of the 20th Century in Argentina, as well as in their European connections, France in the first place, but also England, Germany and Spain, real back and forth movements that converge in a brilliant literary creation. Protagonists of a reaction against Modernism, they claim the union of word and painting, and find in the literary magazines —Ultra, Grecia, Litoral and Mediodia—, and in the manifestos, real channels of expression where these minorities pursue the establishment of a subjective aesthetics, free and without ties. Finally, this path will reach an end by looking to the key role of Maruja Mallo, an artistic personality we can not ignore when approaching this issue.
