    This article analyses the cinematographic work called A Chinese Tale, by the argentinian director Sebastián Borensztein, and its closest aspects to culture and identity. It also proposes a thought about the cultural manifestations found in the film, as well as the different ways the relationship with The Other takes place, as far as identity issues are concerned, focusing on distinct habits and customs, and on different conduct and placements regarding both the own identity and the identity of the Other, enabling several visions of culture to cohabit, changing relationships

    Este artigo analisa a obra cinematográfica Um Conto Chinês do diretor argentino Sebastián Borensztein e seus aspectos mais próximos a cultura e a identidade. Propõe-se ainda, a uma reflexão sobre as manifestações culturais encontradas na obra e as diferentes formas como acontece a relação com o Outro, no que se refere a questões de identidade, focando nos hábitos e costumes distintos e na conduta e posicionamentos diferenciados em relação à sua própria identidade e à identidade do outro, fazendo com que diversas visões de cultura pudessem coabitar, modificando-se relações
