    La aparición de la herejía del año mil y su interrelación con la Iglesia, y la obra de Raoul Glaber nos muestra un nuevo horizonte en la perspectiva del comienzo de las herejías medievales, en la Europa Occidental. El miedo al fin del mundo, y la terrible idea apocalíptica de no salvarse llevó a la sociedad de ese tiempo a una serie de reinterpretaciones del fin del mundo. También la apreciación de señales y la aparición de diversos grupos en Francia e Italia llevan a una interpretación simbólica no exenta de credulidad y miedo. Todo ello nos da a entender que los conflictos sociales tuvieron una raiz claramente religiosa y la Iglesia tuvo que hacer frente a tales movimientos.

    The appearance of the thousand year heresy and its interrelation with the Church, and the work of Raoul Glaber shows us a new horizon in the perspective of the beginning of the medieval heresies, in Western Europe. The fear of the end of the world, and the terrible apocalyptic idea of not being saved, led the society of that time to a series of reinterpretations of the end of the world. Also the appreciation of signals and the appearance of various groups in France and Italy lead to a symbolic interpretation, not without credulity and fear. All this gives us to understand that social conflicts had a clearly religious root and the Church had to face such movements.
