El objetivo de esta investigación es explicar porqué el Archivo de la Guerra Civil tuvo como primera sede el edificio de San Estanislao de Kostka durante diez años, de 1938 a 1948. Para ello, la investigación se estructura en dos apartados. El primero está dedicado a conocer la historia del edificio, los usos que tenía el edificio cuando el recién creado archivo se emplazó en el mismo y las condiciones en las que éste fue instalado en el mismo. El segundo apartado trata de las instalaciones del edificio en relación con la conservación que se pudo facilitar a los documentos custodiados en el archivo. Finalmente, se exponen las conclusiones a las que se ha llegado en esta investigación.

This research explains why the Spanish Civil War Archive had its fist headquaters in the San Estanislao de Kostka building for one decade, from 1938 to 1948. This research is divided into two sections. The first section is dedicated to the history of the building, the uses that had the building when the newly created archive was installed in it and the conditions in which the archive was installed in the building. The second section is concerned by the installations of the building in relation to the conservation of the documents kept in the same. At the end of the article we show the conclusions of this research.
