Culture and conservation media and the techniques for the isolation and identification of the bacteria wich reduce the sulfur isolated from the soil, fersh water and sea water are described in this paper.The results obtained from the investigation of this kind of bacteria in 16 samples of soils used the cultivation of graminea (wheat and barley) in the province of Granada are shown.It is concluded that these bacteria are practicaly not present in the types of soil studied. On the contrary the phenomenon of sulfidrization is very intense.
