Resumen de Adam Smith and Rousseau: Ethics, Politics, Economics.

Greg Moore

  • I Adam Smith and Rousseau i is an interdisciplinary exercise devoted to tracing the intellectual cross-fertilisation between Adam Smith (1723-90) and Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-78). The latter, whom Smith manifestly wished to refute, and any number of other Enlightenment figures could have influenced both Smith and Rousseau rather than the two feeding off each other. Rousseau is thereby given a less grand role as one of many both reacting to the same prompts as Smith and influencing Smith in a circuitous manner.
