Resumen de Energías renovables y eficiencia energética en América Latina: una visión regulatoria

El estudio que se presenta analiza las tendencias energéticas en América Latina, la importancia de la diversificación de la matriz energética incrementando el uso de energías renovables y el compromiso global para combatir el cambio climático. Por lo anterior, teniendo claro el concepto de la sostenibilidad energética futura, se muestra una realidad comparada de la regulación de las energías renovables y la eficiencia energética en América Latina. El estudio comparado fue producto de la búsqueda de información por país, teniendo en cuenta los reportes de las instituciones públicas que son autoridades en energéticas en la región y estudios de organismos internacionales e investigaciones académicas. Del análisis realizado se encontró que la mayoría de los países de América latina han desarrollado, con mayor o menor avance, políticas y regulación de las energías renovables y eficiencia energética y el reto que se impone es garantizar la seguridad energética y contribuir en la disminución de las emisiones de efecto invernadero.

The present study analyzes the energy trends in Latin America, the importance of the diversification of the energy matrix, increasing the use of renewable energy generation and the global commitment to combat climate change. Therefore, with the concept of future energy sustainability clear, a comparative reality of the regulation of renewable energy generation and energy efficiency in Latin America is shown. The comparative study was a product of the search for information done by country, considering the reports of public institutions, which are energy authorities in the region, studies of international organizations as well as academic research. From the analysis carried out, it was found that most Latin American countries have developed, with greater or lesser advancement, policies and regulation of renewable energies generation and energy efficiency. Besides this, the challenge imposed is to guarantee power security in the region, contributing to the reduction of emissions.
