Resumen de Construcción social del miedo en el trabajo: análisis desde la noción de atmósfera afectiva

La vida en el trabajo constituye una fuente de experiencias que son significadas y construidas por los sujetos para organizar y explicar su mundo social. Entre estas experiencias se encuentran las emociones, las cuales tienen implicaciones para el trabajo. El estudio de las emociones durante las últimas décadas ha transitado por diversos dominios teóricos, que han involucrado a la idea de la construcción social de la realidad centrada en el lenguaje, la semiótica de la materialidad, la teoría del actor-red y la performatividad. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar cómo se construye el miedo en el trabajo. Para ello, la investigación se abordó desde una apuesta cualitativa, en la que se empleó el análisis del discurso como método de investigación. El análisis se inserta en la propuesta teórica de atmósfera afectiva, y de afectividad colectiva de la psicología social. Los resultados permitieron develar que el miedo es co-construido en el contexto del trabajo como una hibridación entre un discurso del cuerpo como materialidad, y un discurso de pensamientos y sentimientos como dimensión social. Este afecto se moviliza y se configura en el entramado de las relaciones sociales del sistema sociomaterial que constituyen las atmósferas afectivas de los trabajadores. Asimismo, se identificó que el miedo es un fenómeno diverso, narrado bajo formas estéticas que recrean las experiencias y la vida en el trabajo.

Life in the workplace constitutes a source of experiences that are signified and constructed by the subjects to organize and explain their social world. These experiences include emotions, which have implications for the work. In the last decades, the study of emotions has gone through different theoretical domains, which have included the Semiotics of Materiality, the Actor-Network theory, and Performativity to the idea of the language-focused social construction of reality. The purpose of this article is to analyze how is fear constructed in the workplace. For this, the research took a qualitative approach using discourse analysis as research method. The analysis is included within the affective atmosphere theoretical proposal, collective affectivity, and social psychology. The results revealed that fear is co-constructed in the context of work as a hybrid between a discourse of the body as materiality, and a discourse of thoughts and feelings as a social dimension. This affect is mobilized and set in the framework of the social relationships in the socio-material system on which the affective atmospheres of workers take place. Likewise, it identified that fear is a diverse phenomenon, narrated under aesthetics that recreate the experiences and life at the workplace.
