Julián Casanova, catedrático de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad de Zaragoza e investigador en el Institute for Advanced Study de Princeton, expone los acontecimientos relacionados con la revolución rusa de 1917, de la que acaban de cumplirse cien años. En la entrevista, aparte de reflexionar sobre las causas y consecuencias de la revolución rusa, se abordan una amplia variedad de temas: el equilibrio que en todo estudio histórico debe existir entre el análisis social y la acción del individuo, el uso que el historiador debe hacer de las fuentes, el papel desempeñado por las mujeres en la revolución, la manipulación a la que es sometida la historia desde algunos ámbitos del poder, etc., etc.

Julian Casanova, Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Zaragoza and Visiting Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study of Princeton discusses the events related to the Russian Revolution of 1917, of which only one hundred years have passed. In the interview, besides reflecting on the causes and consequences of the Russian revolution, a wide variety of topics are addressed: the balance that in any historical study must exist between the social analysis and the action of the individual, the use that the historian must make of the sources, the role played by women in the revolution, the manipulation to which history is subjected from some spheres of power, etc., etc.
