  El gomecismo es un período histórico de cambios significativos que deben ser adecuadamente explicados, sobre todo en la perspectiva económica. En ese sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los negocios y contratos efectuados por medio de redes de poder entre los sectores privados con las autoridades del gobierno regional y nacional durante el gomecismo, 1908-1935 en Venezuela. Por medio de una política fiscal orientada a la exoneración de impuestos aplicada de manera selectiva a algunas compañías a través de acuerdos y vínculos con las autoridades políticas, se buscó favorecer la expansión del mercado interno en construcción y contribuir a la instauración de diferentes sociedades mercantiles en el contexto de la región zuliana. Se utilizó la metodología de la ciencia histórica para la realización de esta investigación. Se concluye que el gobierno regional y nacional aplicó una política liberal favorable al sector privado, pero cuyos principales beneficios fueron aquellas sociedades mercantiles con fuertes lazos con las autoridades, y debido a eso se lucraron con contratos y políticas preferenciales, lo que provocó también la concentración de capital en pequeñas manos y el surgimiento de monopolios en el Zulia-Venezuela.

  Gomecism is a historical period of significant changes that must be adequately explained, especially in the economic perspective. In that sense, the objective of this research is to analyze the business and the contracts realized through networks of power between the private sectors with the authorities of the regional and national government during the government, 1908-1935 in Venezuela. Through a fiscal policy aimed at tax exemption applied selectively to some companies through agreements and links with the political authorities, it was sought to favor the expansion of the internal market in construction and to contribute to the establishment of different mercantile companies in the context of the Zulian region. We used the methodology of history to do the research. It is concluded that the regional and national governments apply to a liberal policy favorable to the private sector, but whose main benefits are the mercantile companies with strong ties with the authorities, and because they were profited from preferential contracts and policies, which also caused the concentration of capital in small hands and the emergence of monopolies in Zulia-Venezuela.
