By increasing the university audience the Third stream is deeply changing the university profile and the identity of the academic library. The author reflects on the impact of the audience development and engagement on academic library models, spaces and collections. The Third stream is powering the library participatory model and changing the learning library model. Spaces become both formal and informal, more flexible, they should encourage relax and leisure for both academic and non academic audience. Collections are reshelved and reorganized. By developing Third stream activities and engaging non academic audience the academic library takes on a new plural identity.
