Resumen de La Paz de Westfalia en la memoria digital europea: el caso de europeana.eu

El autor parte de estudios propios, de 1999 y 2015, sobre la Paz de Westfalia como hito y lieu de mémoire y sobre los contenidos que alberga la biblioteca digital europeana.eu en torno a Don Juan de Austria, respectivamente. El autor analiza y considera ahora los objetos digitales sobre la Paz de Westfalia que presenta esa plataforma (impulsada por la Unión Europea) con varios objetivos. Se propone, por una parte, contribuir a un mayor uso de europeana.eu en la investigación de la historia moderna, dando a conocer de manera contextualizada la gran variedad de contenidos que se encuentran entre los 58.245.976 ítems de sus colecciones. A la vez, en este estudio se cuestiona hasta qué punto esos objetos digitales agrupados en europeana.eu ofrecen una memoria europea articulada o más bien una pluralidad de memorias.

The author starts with his own studies, of 1999 and 2015, on the Peace of Westphalia as landmark and lieu de mémoire and on the contents that hosts the digital library europeana.eu on John of Austria (1547-1578). Now he studies the digital objects on the Peace of Westphalia that harbours this platform, fostered by the European Union. He wants, on the one hand, to contribute to a greater use of europeana.eu in the investigation of modern history, making known in a contextualized way the great variety of contents that are among the 58,245,976 ítems of its collections. On the other hand, the author questions to what extent these digital objects grouped in europeana.eu offer an articulated European memory or rather a plurality of memories.
