El Plan General de 1967 nace con una vocación clara: adaptar el crecimiento de la ciudad a la nueva legislación urbanística que surge al amparo de la Ley del Suelo de 1956. Esta adaptación tenía como figura fundamental de ordenación del suelo no edificado el planeamiento parcial, y será esta figura la que regule las grandes bolsas de suelo de la ciudad. El impulso coordinado de la administración municipal y del Colegio de Arquitectos permitirá proyectar simultáneamente todos los ámbitos, generando gran variedad de soluciones por parte de un grupo muy heterogéneo de profesionales.

The Master Plan of 1967 was born with a clear vocation: to adapt the growth of the city to the new urban legislation that arises under the Ley del Suelo de 1956. This adaptation had as a fundamental figure of soil management not built partial planning, and it will be this figure that regulates the big bags of soil in the city. The coordinated impulse of the municipal administration and the college of architects will allow projecting simultaneously all the areas, generating a great variety of solutions by a very heterogeneous group of professionals.
