    Este artículo se propone facilitar a los lectores el análisis de los sistemas políticos, entendidos como aquellos contextos sociales articulados por redes de poder, donde se configuran tanto los procesos vitales como los enfoques para comprenderlos. Las formas como los grupos humanos experimentan e interpretan la vida, la salud y la enfermedad, no son solamente el resultado de condiciones biológicas, sino también la materialización de interacciones sociales complejas mediante las cuales las personas y los grupos se influencian mutuamente. En este seminario de tipo introductorio, revisaremos el comportamiento de los sistemas sociales como sistemas políticos, un asunto particularmente importante para comprender luego la dinámica del proceso salud- enfermedad y de los modelos que utilizamos para comprender e intervenir el curso de la vida. Estudiaremos en primer lugar cómo se entiende y ejerce el poder. Posteriormente destacaremos la forma que ha asumido el poder en distintos momentos de la historia, imponiendo formas particulares a la vida del grupo y a su forma de entender la realidad; acá destacaremos el papel del conocimiento, la moral y la ética como dispositivos políticos. A lo largo del resumen haremos especial énfasis en la manera como el ejercicio del poder ha influenciado nuestras formas actuales de organización social. Este seminario se considera esencial para comprender posteriormente el concepto de determinación de la salud.

    This article aims to facilitate the analysis of political systems for its readers. By political systems, we mean those social contexts constituted by power networks, configuring vital processes and approaches applied to understanding them. The ways in which humans experiment and interpret life, health and sickness are not only the result of biological conditions, but also the materialization of complex social interactions through which people and groups influence each other. In this introductory seminar, we will examine the behaviour of social systems as political systems. This is a particularly important issue to understand the dynamics of the health-sickness process, and the models that we will use to understand and intervene the course of life. Firstly, we will study how power is understood and exercised. Thereafter, we will highlight the way in which power has been assumed in different moments of history. How it has imposed particular characteristics to the group’s life and to its conception of reality. Here we will highlight the role of knowledge, moral and ethics as political mechanisms. Throughout the summary, the way in which power has influenced our current social organizations will be specially emphasized.
