    El artículo muestra la investigación realizada sobre los valores utilitarios de la especie Cordia collococca, la información se logró a través de un listado de todos los usos posibles que brindaron los entrevistados, el valor de la información ancestral  posibilitó conocer el valor de uso total de cada parte de la especie, El estudio participativo se realizó en seis de los 18 consejos populares del municipio Pinar del Río. Evaluar la especie (Cordia collococca) Ateje bajo principios agroecológicos, a partir del estudio sociocultural posibilitó conocer sus multifuncionalidad y la oportunidad de extender la información a los agroecosistemas locales. La confiabilidad de la muestra de acuerdo al método de mitades partida, manifestó una fuerte correlación. El valor del Coeficiente de Guttman para mitades compartidas es alto (0,711). Se registraron  más de 20 valores utilitarios que  sitúan  la especie con altos aportes a las tres dimensiones de la sostenibilidad. La distingue su paisajismo, facilidad de propagación, los aportes alimenticios de sus frutos, protectora de la fauna silvestre, portadora de altos contenidos en materia orgánica, es una especie caducifolia y sus hojas son ricas en macroelementos.

    The article shows the research carried out on the utilitarian values ​​of the Cordia collococca species. The information was obtained through a list of all the possible uses provided by the interviewees, the value of the ancestral information made it possible to know the total use value of each part of the species, The participatory study was carried out in six of the 18 popular councils of the Pinar del Río municipality. Evaluate the species (Cordia collococca) Ateje under agroecological principles, from the sociocultural study made it possible to know its multifunctionality and the opportunity to extend the information to the local agroecosystems. The reliability of the sample according to the split halves method showed a strong correlation. The value of the Guttman Coefficient for shared halves is high (0.711). There were more than 20 utilitarian values ​​that place the species with high contributions to the three dimensions of sustainability. It distinguishes its landscaping, ease of propagation, the nutritional contributions of its fruits, protective of the wild fauna, carrier of high contents in organic matter, it is a deciduous species and its leaves are rich in macroelements.
