Resumen de La Gran Vía madrileña, de reforma urbana a paisaje cultural para el ocio y el turismo

  En un contexto en el que la demanda turística aumenta y se amplía el concepto de patrimonio a un número de bienes cada vez mayor, el paisaje en general y los paisajes culturales en particular atraen el interés de la sociedad y del turismo. En este trabajo se analizan los elementos de la Gran Vía que justifican su singularidad y calidad como unidad de paisaje dentro de la ciudad de Madrid, con atención a los criterios que determinaron su apertura y la construcción de edificios portadores de valores patrimoniales en sí mismos. Se presta también atención a los usos comerciales, de entretenimiento y ocio, que hacen de esta vía un espacio de atracción turística, a sus dinámicas demográficas y a las representaciones plásticas a través del cine y la pintura de Antonio López que potencian los valores simbólicos y de representación de la Gran Vía. De ese modo, se refuerzan sentimientos de iden- tidad de los madrileños con este entorno y valores patrimoniales que permitirían avanzar en el diseño de estrategias para alcanzar la calificación de la Gran Vía madrileña como paisaje cultural urbano.

  In a context in which the tourism demand increases and expands the concept of heritage to one growing number of goods, the landscape in general and the cul- tural landscapes in particular attract the interest of society and tourism. This paper discusses the Gran Via elements justifying its uniqueness and quality as a unit of landscape within the city of Madrid, with attention to the criteria which determined its opening and the construction of buildings of heritage values in themselves carriers. Attention is paid also to commercial uses, of entertainment and leisure activities, which make this path a space of tourist attraction, their demographic dynamics and pictures plastic representations through the films and painting of Antonio López that enhance representation of Gran Vía and symbolic values. In this way, reinforce feelings of identity of the locals with this environment and heritage values that would allow progress in the design of strategies to achieve the qualification of the Gran Via urban cultural landscape.
