A partir del siglo XIX, la prensa constituyó por excelencia el medio a través del cual promocionar, criticar y reseñar diversas actividades musicales como también regular gustos, usos y costumbres. En este marco, el presente artículo se propone indagar en torno a la función social, política y estética atribuida a la música en el diario Boletín Musical (1837) y en La Moda (1837-38), soportes vinculados al accionar de la denominada «joven generación romántica».

From the nineteenth century, the press was the medium through which to promote, critique and review various musical activities as well as establish tastes, practices and customs. In this context, the aim of this article is to investigate the social, politic and aesthetic function attributed to music in the Boletín Musical (1837) and La Moda (1837-38), newspaper linked to the actions of the so-called «young romantic generation» Prensa y cultura musical: los casos del Boletín Musical y La Moda (Bs. As. 1837-1838)
