The development of internet-linked classes in small schools in Canada has been facilitated by school district digital intranets. These electronic structures that link schools, together with the teaching and learning processes that take place within them, have demonstrated the possibilities of integrating virtual and actual teaching and learning. Cybercells - face to face groups in which members extend their discussions to include virtual visitors - are considered as a vehicle for the preparation of teachers for classrooms that combine actual and virtual teaching and learning.
