Resumen de Massa muscular média, avaliação bioquímica e fatores associados em diabetes mellitus tipo 2: um estudo de associação

    Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous group of metabolic disorders has in common hyperglycemia. The mellitus type 1 diabetes results from the destruction of pancreatic beta-cells with consequent insulin deficiency and type 2 diabetes mellitus is characterized by defects in insulin action and secretion. Objective: To investigate the association between muscle mass medium, biochemical variables and associated factors in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus Methods: The assessment anthropometric, biochemical and dietary intake in patients. The quantitative variables of the study were expressed by descriptive statistics. It was held normality test (Shapiro-Wilk) to verify the distribution of numerical variables. To compare the numerical variables was performed Student t test and Pearson's correlation. Results: The sample consisted of 25 individuals being most 52% of women (n = 13) adults and 60 % (n = 15). In relation to body mass index 100 % of subjects were within the normal range. There was a correlation between body mass index and waist circumference (r = 0.81) and between glycated hemoglobin and fasting blood glucose (r = 0.51). Conclusion: It was observed association between muscle mass medium, biochemical evaluation and associated factors in type 2 diabetes mellitus, however there was a strong correlation between waist circumference and body mass index, and between fasting glucose and glycated hemoglobin.

    Introdução: O diabetes mellitus é um grupo heterogêneo de distúrbios metabólicos que apresenta em comum a hiperglicemia. O diabetes mellitus tipo 1 é o resultado da destruição de células beta pancreáticas com consequente deficiência de insulina, e o diabetes mellitus tipo 2 caracteriza-se por defeitos na ação e secreção da insulina. Objetivo: Verificar a associação entre massa muscular média, variáveis bioquímicas e fatores associados em indivíduos com diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Métodos: Foi realizada avaliação antropométrica, bioquímica e de consumo alimentar nos pacientes. As variáveis quantitativas do estudo foram expressas por meio de estatística descritiva. Foi realizado teste de normalidade (Shapiro-Wilk) para verificar a distribuição das variáveis numéricas. Para a comparação das variáveis numéricas foi realizado teste T de Student e correlação de Pearson. Resultados: A amostra constituiu de 25 indivíduos sendo maior parte de mulheres 52% (n=13) e adultos 60% (n=15). Em relação ao índice de massa muscular 100% dos indivíduos encontraram-se dentro da faixa de normalidade. Houve correlação entre índice de massa corporal e circunferência da cintura (r =0,81) e entre hemoglobina glicada e glicemia de jejum (r= 0,51). Conclusão: Não se observou associação entre massa muscular média, avaliação bioquímica e fatores associados em diabetes mellitus tipo 2, porem houve correlação forte entre circunferência da cintura e índice de massa corporal, e também entre glicemia de jejum e hemoglobina glicada. ABSTRACTAverage muscle mass, biochemical evaluation and associated factors in type 2 diabetes mellitus: an association studyIntroduction: Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous group of metabolic disorders has in common hyperglycemia.
