    Objective: To assess the presence of dissatisfaction with body image and inadequate eating behaviors of amateur classic ballet dancers from the city of Canela-RS. Methods: Twenty-eight female students in the adolescent age group (10 to 19 years old), classical ballet dancers from all dance schools in the city, were included in the study. Questionnaires were applied to assess sociodemographic data, dissatisfaction with body image (Body Shape Questionnaire and Stunkard silhouettes scale) and eating behavior (Eating Attitudes Test-26). Weight, height, waist circumference and triceps and subscapular skinfolds were measured. Results: The prevalence of dissatisfaction with body image was 35.7%, 67.9% had a desire to have a different silhouette from the current one and 21.6% had an inadequate eating behavior. There was no association between dissatisfaction with body image, inadequate eating behavior and sociodemographic and anthropometric parameters. Conclusion: There was presence of dissatisfaction with body image and inadequate eating behavior among amateur ballet dancers, but there was no association between the parameters.

    Objetivo: Avaliar a presença de insatisfação corporal e a alteração de comportamento alimentar de dançarinas de ballet clássico amadoras do município de Canela-RS. Métodos: Fizeram parte do estudo 28 alunas do sexo feminino na faixa etária da adolescência (10 a 19 anos incompletos), dançarinas de ballet clássico de todas as escolas de dança do município. Foram aplicados questionários de: dados sociodemográficos, satisfação corporal (Body Shape Questionnaire e escala de silhuetas de Stunkard) e de comportamento alimentar (Eating Attitudes Test-26). Além disso, foram aferidos peso, altura, circunferência de cintura e dobras cutâneas tricipital e subescapular. Resultados: A prevalência de insatisfação corporal da amostra foi de 35,7%, 67,9% apresentou o desejo de possuir uma silhueta diferente da atual e 21,6% possui comportamento alimentar inadequado. Não houve associação significância entre insatisfação com a imagem corporal, comportamento alimentar inadequado e parâmetros sociodemográficos e antropométricos.
