Resumen de Perfil e práticas alimentares de acadêmicos do curso de Nutrição

    Introduction and Objective: The student of nutrition has food behavior influenced in a positive way by the knowledge obtained during the course, once they acquire knowledge about the properties of foods, but many times, these are insufficient to prevent imbalances in nutritional status or health practices inadequate. This study aimed to describe the profile and dietary practices of academics in the Nutrition. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study, comprising students from the course of Nutrition at the University Federal de Pelotas. The data collection occurred in the second half of 2016 and was performed by means of a questionnaire applied, with questions about the profile, life habits and dietary practices. The statistical analyzes were performed in Stata ® with a significance level of 5% (p<0.05). Results: Approximately 84.8% of the sample is female, aged between 19 and 29 years (83.3%) and the majority (98.8%) did not smoke, eat sporadically beverages (61.6%) and practice regular physical activity (59.1%). Regarding food consumption, had very low consumption of fruits (16.5%) and vegetables (18. 9%), but the majority (57.9%) never ate chips and 56.1% ate only from 1 to 3 times a month frying. Discussion: Studies show that students have bad habits of life and inadequate food consumption. Conclusion: It is suggested that the constant development of actions geared to undergraduates, in order to encourage the style and quality of life of students.

    Introdução e objetivo: O estudante de nutrição possui comportamento alimentar influenciado pelos conhecimentos obtidos durante o curso, mas muitas vezes, estes são insuficientes para evitar práticas de saúde inadequadas. Este estudo objetivou descrever o perfil e práticas alimentares de acadêmicos do curso Nutrição. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo transversal, descritivo, com alunos do curso de Nutrição. A coleta de dados ocorreu no segundo semestre de 2016, no período de setembro de 2016 a fevereiro de 2017, e foi realizada através de questionário auto aplicado, com questões sobre perfil, hábitos de vida e práticas alimentares. As análises estatísticas foram feitas no Stata®, com nível de significância de 5% (p<0,05). Resultados: Cerca de 84,8% da amostra é do sexo feminino, com idade entre 19 e 29 anos (83,3%), a maioria (98,8%) não fuma, ingere esporadicamente bebidas alcoólicas (61,6%) e pratica atividade física regularmente (59,1%). O consumo alimentar teve baixo consumo de frutas (16,5%) e de hortaliças (18,9%), mas a maioria (57,9%) nunca comia salgadinhos e 56,1%, apenas de 1 a 3 vezes ao mês ingeria frituras. Discussão: Estudos mostram que os universitários possuem maus hábitos de vida e consumo alimentar inadequado.
