    Context, off-text and back text have in common to agree with a linguistic as well as extra-linguistic referent. It is perhaps because there is some off-text in the sense of off-language that there is literature and it is this ambivalence which context and back text explore. If both notions emphasize the physical and occasional rooting of the literary relationship, the back text also assumes the creative dynamics of a subject who cooperates with his unconscious.

    Contexte, hors-texte et arrière-texte ont en commun de s’accorder à un référent linguistique et extra-linguistique. C’est peut-être parce qu’il y a du hors-texte au sens de hors langage qu’il y a de la littérature et c’est cette ambivalence qu’explorent le contexte et l’arrière-texte. Si les deux notions soulignent l’ancrage physique et circonstanciel de la relation littéraire, l’arrière-texte prend en outre en charge la dynamique créative d’un sujet coopérantavec son inconscient.
