  • Resumen
    • This note addresses the structural engineer’s scope of work with respect to the design of building facades.

For the purposes of this note, the term ‘scope of work’ is intended to refer specifi cally to the lead structural engineer’s scope of work.

The structural engineer is assumed not to be the specialist facade designer. If the engineer also has a specifi c duty as facade engineer, then this is assumed to be a separate appointment outwith the scope of this note.

Work on facades of historical buildings is excluded.
