Este estudio presenta el resultado de una encuesta sobre las actuales actitudes lingüísticas de un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria entre 14 y 20 años, en dos institutos en las ciudades de Plasencia y Cáceres, en la Comuni-dad Autónoma de Extremadura (España). La encuesta cubre temas como la percepción del hablante sobre su propia modalidad lingüística, el prestigio que el hablante le otorga a dicha modalidad y el nivel de asimilación al castellano normativo que, en opinión del hablante, está afectando a la modalidad de habla en Extremadura
This article presents current attitudes among a surveyed group of high school students in the cities of Plasencia and Cáceres, in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura (Spain), towards their own linguistic variety. The survey coves topics such as the linguistic awareness of the students towards their modality, the prestige of this modality within their age group (14-20) and its level of current assimilation to standard Castilian.
