Estratègies de resistència creativa contra la gentrificació. Perspectiva des del cas de Barranco

    A través del cas peruà de Barranco, aquest article trasllada els debats actuals que estan tenint lloc a nivell global sobre gentrificació al context llatinoamericà. Concretament ho fa a partir de les particularitats que tenen lloc a Llatinoamèrica, per centrar-se, d’una banda, en les formes de resistència creativa que fan front a aquest procés, i on, destaca l’artivisme, i d’altra banda, en com sorgeixen aquestes en les estratègies de resistència al fenomen de la gentrificació. Aquestes estratègies son la simbòlica mitjançant l’artivisme que produeix els murals, i la política mitjançant l’Agenda 21 que els protegeix jurídicament i inicia aquestes resistències, empoderant els murals com a element que relaciona ambdues estratègies. Aquest procés de gentrificació és estudiat a partir de l’especificitat del mural, amb natura dual com a element indicador i alhora com a creador de gentrificació. Sent estratègia simbòlica de resistència on intervenen els actors afectats, constatant com origina conflictivitat que es manifesta amb el mural com a eina en les estratègies de resistència davant la gentrificació. Finalment, a partir del cas de Barranco, mostro com s’articulen i coordinen sent necessari analitzar totes les resistències en conjunt i no per separat.

    Through the Peruvian case of Barranco, this article takes the current debates about gentrification in a globally level and moves it forward in the context of today’s Latin American. Specifically, it is based on the particularities that show up in Latin America, to focus, on the one hand, on the forms of creative resistance that face gentrification process where artivism stands out as the main strategy that goes hand in hand with a political tool. On the other hand, how these resistance strategies arise to face the phenomenon of gentrification. These strategies are symbolic through the artivism that produces murals, and politics through Agenda 21 that protects mural legally and initiates these resistances, empowering murals as an element that links both strategies. This gentrification process is studied based on the specificity of the mural, with dual nature as an indicative element and at the same time as a creator of gentrification, being a symbolic strategy of resistance where the involved actors intervene, as a source of conflict that is manifested through the mural as a tool in the resistance strategies towards gentrification. Finally, from the case of Barranco, I show how they articulate and coordinate, so it is necessary to analyze all the resistors as a whole and not separately.
