Durante la próxima década se construirán más de 100 submarinos convencionales con un coste global de unos 40.000 millones de euros. Navantia se encuentra a punto de culminar el S-80 y tiene una oportunidad real de situarse de manera preferente en un mercado en alza y donde solo coexisten siete empresas con posibilidades de ofertar submarinos convencionales. Mediante un proceso de evaluación multicriterio, utilizando el método propuesto por Thomas L. Saaty, un grupo de expertos ha comparado el proyecto de Navantia con las opciones más avanzadas de sus competidores, determinando de forma matemática la posición relativa del S-80 en tres principales aspectos: plataforma, propulsión y armas. Navantia puede volver a un mercado selecto, la fuerza de sus competidores es grande. Mediante este análisis determinaremos las fortalezas y debilidades del S-80 y también veremos qué aspectos debe mejorar Navantia para regresar a un mercado en auge

During the next decade, more than a hundred conventional submarines will be built with a global cost of around 40,000 million euros. Navantia is near to finish the first S-80 and has real chances of entering a rising market where only seven companies have possibilities to offer conventional submarines. Through an analytic hierarchy process, using Thomas L. Saaty’s method, some experts compared Navantia’s project with the most advanced solutions of its competitors, mathematically determining the relative position of the S-80 in three main aspects: platform, propulsion and weapons. Navantia has a real opportunity of entering again an exclusive market, being the strength of its competitors who are great as well. Through this analysis we will determine the strengths and weaknesses of the S-80 and we will also see what aspects Navantia should strengthen to enter again a growing market.
