    «En el inmediato sur de Europa, el extremismo violento a favor de una pretendida yihad continúa su alarmante expansión, lejos de la atención mediática que merece. En los últimos años, el derrocamiento de Gadafi y el declive de Dáesh en Oriente Medio han sido determinantes para convertir el norte y la franja saheliana de África en santuario de grupos extremistas empeñados en dinamitar toda esperanza de futuro para millones de africanos y en desestabilizar el orden internacional. Más allá de sus terribles cifras de víctimas mortales –43.000 entre 2009 y 2017, según Naciones Unidas–, esta lacra violenta está reventando cualquier atisbo de seguridad y desarrollo; a pesar del incontestable –pero no suficiente– apoyo internacional desplegado en el continente vecino»

    «On the southern flank of Europe, violent extremism for a supposed jihad continues its expansion, far from the media attention it deserves. In recent years, the overthrow of Gaddafi and the decline of Da'esh in the Middle East have been decisive in turning the North of Africa and the Sahelian region into sanctuaries of extremist groups which are dynamiting any hope for the future for millions of Africans and destabilizing the International Order. Beyond its terrible figures of fatalities –43,000 between 2009 and 2017, according to the United Nations–, this powerful plague is bursting any hint of security and development. All of this despite the incontestable, but not enough, international support deployed in the African continent».
