Los Montoro, un linaje de Huelma y Cambil

    Se hace una investigación genealógica del apellido Montoro, descubriéndose que su origen probable está en la villa turolense del mismo nombre, perteneciente al antiguo Reino de Aragón, y que actualmente se llama Montoro de Mezquita. En el siglo XVII, personas de este apellido vivían en El Puche, villa del Reino de Valencia, de donde pasaron a finales de esa centuria a la villa de Huelma. Llegaron dos hermanos, pero solo del doctor don Juan de Montoro quedaría descendencia por línea de varonía en las generaciones siguientes. En el primer cuarto del siglo XIX, una rama de esta familia marchará a Cambil, teniendo una extensa descendencia, cuyo miembro más preclaro ha sido don Cristóbal Montoro Romero, ministro de Hacienda del Reino de España.

    Is a genealogical research of the surname Montoro, discovering that its likely origin is in the villa belonging to the ancient Kingdom of Aragon, Teruel of the same name, and is now called Montoro’s mosque. In the 17TH century, people of this surname lived in El Puche, town of the Kingdom of Valencia, where spent at the end of that century to the villa of Huelma. Two brothers arrived, but only the doctor don Juan de Montoro would be offspring by varonia line in the following generations. In the first quarter of the 19th century, a branch of this family will run to Cambil, having an extensive offspring, whose most illustrious member was don Cristóbal Montoro Romero, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Spain.
