Resumen de Diário da Tarde de Ilhéus – lugar Memória

  This paper aims at analyzing the newspaper “Diário da Tarde”, from Ilhéus as a site of memory, in this town of Cacao’s region in South Bahia. So, it was carried a survey which has aimed to locate, identify and characterize pages and literary supplement on that newspaper, which was founded on February 10th, 1928 and kept open until 1998. Through a qualitative approach, it was possible to realize that the spaces to publications of literary texts were placed on columns entitled “Conto da semana” (Short story of the week), “Vesperal” and “Cosmorama”. According to Pierre Norra (1993) the sites of memory are born and live in sake of the feeling that there is not spontaneous memory, and it is necessary to create files, keep and carry the anniversaries or birthdays celebrations, pronounce the funeral, make contact, because that operations are common. The importance of the literary publication on the newspaper can be analyzed from short story, reviews, disclosing notes of awards received by authors like Gilberto Freire, and his book “Casa Grande e Senzala”. Those publications were carried between the years 1931, 1933 and 1935.

  Este artigo tem por objetivo central inseri o jornal “Diário da Tarde”, de Ilhéus como lugar de memória desta cidade região do Cacau no sul da Bahia. Para tal, foi feita uma pesquisa que buscou localizar, identificar e caracterizar páginas e suplemento literário no jornal que foi fundado em 10 de Fevereiro de 1928 e funcionou até o ano de 1998. Por meio de uma abordagem qualitativa, foi possível perceber que os espaços destinados aos textos literários se davam em colunas como “Conto da Semana”, “Vesperal” e “Cosmorama”. Segundo Pierre Nora os lugares de memória nascem e vivem do sentimento que não existe memória espontânea, que é preciso criar arquivos, manter os aniversários, organizar as celebrações, pronunciar as honras fúnebres, estabelecer contatos, porque estas operações não são naturais. A importância das publicações literárias no jornal pode ser vista a partir das crônicas, contos, resenhas, notas de divulgação de prêmios recebidos por autores como Gilberto Freyre, pelo livro “Casa Grande & Senzala” e permeiam os anos de 1931, 1933 e 1935.
