  • Resumen
    • Le Page discusses why the latest attempt to put figures on how far the sea level will rise and how fast is dangerous. Among other things, he stresses that there is no doubt that the planet will get hotter and that sea level will eventually rise many meters. This is known because the last time atmospheric CO^sub 2^ levels were higher than 400 parts per million, sea level was between 5 and 40 meters higher. Even if emissions stopped tomorrow, there would still be huge sea level rises. The only question is how fast it will happen. The frightening truth is that scientists still don't know.
