The estimation of the calculation flows to size the drainages in urban forest parks is of great importance for several reasons. First of all because of the social pressure to which they are subjected, which results in more compacted surfaces with less vegetation compared to natural areas, and secondly by the need to control the runoff that is generated, and the corresponding trawls, and evacuate them adequately to avoid flooding problems in the existing urban environment. Given the limited size of these areas, it is important to start with a good estimate of the maximum intensities caused by surface runoff, and to detail well the flow values __that are generated in each point, to design and properly dimension the drainage network, minimizing its size and avoiding its clogging. The rains that occurred at the beginning of July 2017 in Madrid highlighted the need to adequately size these structures. This paper analyzes the goodness of the intensity-duration formulas usually used to estimate the maximum intensity values __and proposes a correction for the Madrid area in order to adapt the values __used to the appropriate dimensioning of the drainage network.
