En las dos novelas autobiográficas Ein turbulentes Leben. Adam Olearius. Gottorfer Hofgelehrter (2011) de Erich Maletzke, sobre el erudito y poeta del barroco Adam Olearius (1599- 1671), y Schönheit der Verwilderung (2002, primera edición 1987) de Henning Boëtius, sobre la vida del poeta Johann Christian Günther (1695-1723), las categorías de trabajo y falta del trabajo caracterizan la representación de un discurso vital e identitario adoptando la forma literaria de una biografía.
Este estudio trata de analizar las razones por las que vidas tan dispares –que en el sentido del barroco pueden clasificarse de exitosa y fracasada– sean de interés para biografías contemporáneas y cómo las categorías de trabajo y falta de trabajo, en el sentido de una búsqueda fracasada de un mecenas, influyen en la construcción de la identidad y su representación en las novelas biográficas

The two biographical novels about the baroque authors Adam Olearius (1599-1671) and Johann Christian Günther (1795-1723): A turbulent life. Adam Olearius. A court scholar from Gottorf by Erich Maletzke (2011), and Henning Boëtius' Beauty of desolation (2002, first edition 1987) deal with work and unemployment as two categories dominating the life and identity discourses of both poets, within the frame of the literary biography. By dealing with the question of how such different vitae – a successful and unsuccessful one in the baroque sense – have their influence on identity and life the following article is focusing on the aesthetic representation of work as an identity factor in both biographical novels

In den beiden biographischen Romanen, Erich Maletzkes Ein turbulentes Leben.
Adam Olearius. Gottorfer Hofgelehrter (2011) über den barocken Gelehrten und Dichter Adam Olearius (1599-1671) und Henning Boëtius‘ Schönheit der Verwilderung (2002, Erstauflage 1987) über das Dichterleben Johann Christian Günthers (1695-1723) prägt die Kategorie der Arbeit und Arbeitslosigkeit die Darstellung eines Lebens- und Identitätsdiskurses in der literarischen Form der Biographie. Es gilt in dem Beitrag der Frage nachzugehen, wie derart unterschiedliche Lebensläufe – im barocken Sinne als erfolgreich und erfolgslos einzustufen – in Biographien der Gegenwart gleichermaßen Interesse finden und die Kategorien der Arbeit und Arbeitslosigkeit, im Sinne der gescheiterten Suche nach einem Mäzen, die Identitätskonstitution und deren Darstellung in den biographischen Romanen beeinflussen.
