    Resumen Este año de 2018 celebramos el veinte aniversario de la muerte del académico Juan Infante Galán, destacado investigador de la segunda mitad del siglo XX y, sobre todo, manifiesto devoto de la Virgen del Rocío a través de su vinculación con la Hermandad Matriz de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Almonte. Reconstruimos su biografía a través de la documentación que conserva en su archivo en la que se reflejan las vivencias de la Guerra Civil española y su decidida vocación por dedicarse a la investigación. Su legado documental fue donado por su hermana Isabel Infante Galán a la Hermandad Matriz y en la actualidad se encuentra inventariado. Esta donación fue el punto de partida para iniciar la organización de los fondos documentales que conserva la Hermandad Matriz.

    This year of 2018 we celebrate the centenary of the birth of the academician Juan Infante Galán, who was an eminent researcher of the second half of the 20th century. He was a manifest devotee of the Virgen del Rocío through his link with the Matriz de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Almonte Brotherhood. In this paper, we rebuild his biography through the documentation that is kept in his archive, which reflects the experiences of the Spanish Civil War and his determined vocation to devote himself to research.
