  • Resumen
    • The article focuses on research into redesigned nuclear fuel which would lessen the chance of radiation leaks and hydroJOUR explosions during accidents. It states nuclear reactors use uranium fuel pressed into ceramic pellets which are stacked inside fuel rods made of a zirconium alloy which is submerged in water. It mentions research is studying the use of iron, chromium, and aluminum coatings that won't react with water to produce hydroJOUR gas and the use of uranium silicide as nuclear fuel.
