Resumen de El ʒeísmo, ¿un paso más en la evolución yeísta?

Maria Assumpció Rost Bagudanch

  • español

    La aparición de realizaciones fónicas fricativas (rehiladas) para el yeísmo se ha asociado tradicionalmente a determinadas áreas dialectales meridionales;

    sin embargo, no es extraño detectar su presencia en el habla de locutores que no pertenecen a estas variantes, lo que apuntaría a la extensión del fenómeno y, en consecuencia, al avance del proceso yeísta. En este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo un experimento en fonética acústica con el que se ha analizado la producción de seis informantes centropeninsulares, tres yeístas y tres distinguidores. Los resultados permiten advertir que la presencia de soluciones rehiladas es común en todos ellos. El comportamiento de la variación observada apunta no solo a que se trata de sonidos inherentes al idioma (aparecen en distribución complementaria) sino que hace posible señalar una posible explicación al cambio de paradigma desde el sistema distinguidor al yeísta.

    Traditionally, fricative and affricate solutions for Spanish yeísmo have been described in some meridional dialects; however, it is possible to detect them in speakers from other zones. This would point to an evolution in the yeísmo change. In this article, we conducted an acoustic experiment to analyse the phonetic production of six centropeninsular speakers, three of them yeístas and three of them distinguishers. Results show that all of them produced fricative and affricate variants in all the analysed contexts. The observed variation allows us to state that this kind of sounds are inherent to Spanish and that they arise due to context conditions (complementary distribution). Moreover, its behaviour permits to venture a possible explanation for the change from a distinguishing system to a yeísta one.
