Resumen de Lluvia y ciudad: ¿bailamos?

  La armonía entre lluvia y ciudad se refleja en el bienestar de la sociedad y la naturaleza. Para el caso de Benaguasil, un municipio de 11 .500 habitantes en la provincia de Valencia, el baile entre ambas comenzó hace más de 1 O años al apostar por los Sistemas Urbanos de Drenaje Sostenible (SUDS), lo que le condujo a obtener, a nivel nacional, el Premio Ciudad Sostenible en la categoría de Gestión de Agua en 2015.

  Este artículo recoge brevemente el camino recorrido por el municipio desde el año 2008, presentando su evolución con la participación como socio en los proyectos europeos AQUAVAL y E2STORMED, y demostrando que actualmente ya es práctica habitual que la gestión de aguas pluviales se integre en las actuaciones de regeneración del espacio urbano.

  The harmony between rain and the city is reflected in the well-being of its inhabitants and nature. In the case of Benaguasil, a town with a population of 11,500 in the province of Valencia, this connection was enhanced over 1 O years ago by the development of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUOS), which received a national Sustainable City Award in the category of Water Management in 2015.

  This article provides an overview of the route followed by the municipality from 2008 and its ensuing participation as a member of the European AQUAVAL and E2STORMED projects, and underlines the now standard practice of incorporating stormwater management within all urban regeneration projects.
