This paper presents the initial results of integrating mechatronics into a large second-year designcourse. Issues related to course objectives, implementation, costs and initial results for the courseare presented as well. The initial results generated from a group of 20 students provides someinsight into the ultimate goal of implementing the enhanced curriculum for approximately 300students per year.
