    This article analyses the management of service personals in middle school in situation of dual authority both functional (through the action of the Dean of the Middle school and the Assistant manager) and hierarchical (represented by the Chairman of the County Council and the Chief Executive Officer). In this research, we present three cases of relationship between authorities related to three different councils. It appears that the management of such employees is organized around dialogue situations to manage the prescriptions made by the functional and hierarchical authorities. At the same time, this dialogue is a process allowing adjustment of the stakeholders’ positions of this management.

    Cet article analyse le management des personnels techniques des collèges ayant la particularité d’être en situation de double autorité à la fois fonctionnelle (via l’action du chef d’établissement et de l’adjoint-gestionnaire du collège) et hiérarchique (représentée par le président du conseil départemental). Les auteurs présentent dans cette recherche, trois cas de relations entre autorités rattachées à trois départements distincts. Il apparaît que le management de ces agents se trouve organisé autour d’un dialogue imposé par la configuration en double autorité. Ces dispositifs permettent de gérer les exigences parfois contradictoires formulées par les autorités hiérarchiques et fonctionnelles. Par ailleurs, ce dialogue est un processus facilitant l’ajustement et l’évolution des positions des acteurs de ce management.
