The article explore the work of the Chilean artist Cecilia Vicuña, who creates in performance, sculpture, music, the written word and installation. Particular focus is given to her retrospective exhibition to be held at Witte de With in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2019. Additional topics discussed include how her work explores what is vanishing, how she sees her paintings as a form of ritual handicraft, and her "Palabramas" series, produced since 1973.
