Resumen de Chillida-Leku, un lugar donde el horizonte es el arte

  En el momento de pensar en un espacio expositivo destinado a un único artista, parece lógico que espacio y obra estén directamente vinculados, pero esto no siempre es así. La piel de los museos, con frecuencia, se congura de forma independiente a aquello que se alberga en su interior. Y, ¿qué tiene de particular este museo de Chillida? Chillida-Leku, lugar de Chillida en euskera, es un traje hecho a medida por y para el escultor. La obra y el espacio comparten un mismo lenguaje, y el resultado nal es un equilibrio perfecto entre naturaleza y cultura. Por otra parte, la presencia de las lecturas del lósofo Bachelard, que el propio Chillida declara, explica en gran medida las emociones que el visitante experimenta no solo durante la visita a Chillida-Leku sino ante toda la obra de Chillida.

  hen one tries to imagine a place to exhibit the works of a single artist, one would expect that place and artist should be somehow connected. However, this is not always the case. Museums are frequently created independently from the pieces they host. So, what is so special about this museum of Chillida? Chillida-Leku, ‘Chillida’s place’ in Euskera, is like a tailor-made suit created specically both by and for the artist. Work and place share the same language and the nal result is a perfect balance between nature and culture. On the other hand, the reading of Bachelard’s works, which Chillida himself declares, explains to a great extent the emotions the visitor experiences, not just when he visits Chillida-Leku, but in front of the whole work of Chillida.
