Objectives: To determine the levels of IL6 in blood of a population of patients with MS and analyze the possible variation of these levels after the administration of the antioxidant Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Material and methods: Prospective, longitudinal, analytical and quasi-experimental study through a clinical trial. The sample was of 28 MS patients, who were administered 800 mg of EGCG divided into two doses (morning and noon), for 4 months. All the patients during that period followed a Mediterranean isocaloric diet. Just before and after the intervention, each patient was taken a blood sample, quantifying the IL6 levels by ELISA immunoassay technique.
