Resumen de Just hang up and drive

Jeff Hecht

  • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US says distracted drivers killed more than 3300 people in 2011. In April 2013 it recommended that manual text entry, and the display of text messages or web content should be blocked in all moving vehicles. Safety rules in many countries have fallen far behind the research, which has confirmed the obvious dangers of drivers taking their eyes off the road to text on a handheld phone. In the US, it is down to individual states to enact laws. Here, Hecht warns why trying to use hands-free technology to turn cars into communication hubs is a disaster in the making.
