Resumen de A biosphere reborn

Tiffany O´Callaghan

  • It was meant to provide a blueprint for colonies on Mars, but nearly ended up being bulldozed instead. Here, O'Callaghan finds out what's next for Biosphere 2. When a group of eight people were sealed into Biosphere 2 in 1991, the project was hailed as a groundbreaking scientific endeavor. The "Biospherians" were to live entirely on the food they grew, drink recycled water and breathe oxygen made by the plants. It was meant to provide a blueprint for spaceships and colonies on other planets, as well as teaching people more about the planet they live on. That was the plan, anyway. The first "mission" was plagued by problems including falling oxygen levels.
