  • The authoress points out the paralelism between the Roman political expansion and the appearing of the poetae noui dunrig the 1st century B. C. Also in that time the Roman poets were in contact with the Hellenistic culture and found many mutual points of view: the religious scepticism, the increasing individualism and, in the literary field, a sharp criticism. All this produced a new way of life, which contrasted with the traditional Roman society.
