Seguridad Alimentaria y Derecho a la Alimentación en Argentina: un recorrido histórico

    Fundamentos: El concepto seguridad alimentaria, ligado a los intentos por eliminar el hambre y la pobreza en el mundo, fue adquiriendo diferentes acepciones hasta llegar a definición multidimensional actual. Por lo que es necesario reflexionar sobre la evolución de este concepto y su relación con el enfoque de derechos. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue describir el recorrido histórico de los conceptos de seguridad alimentaria y el derecho a la alimentación adecuada en general, y en Argentina en particular.

    Métodos: Revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos: Scopus, ScIELO, LILACS de publicaciones sobre seguridad alimentaria y derecho a la alimentación.

    Resultados: El concepto de seguridad alimentaria en su evolución incorporó en su definición el derecho a una alimentación adecuada, al mismo tiempo que este derecho se incorpora en la legislación de muchos países, entre ellos Argentina.

    Conclusiones: La participación de la sociedad en su conjunto resulta fundamental para la fortalecer las capacidades institucionales del Estado. Asimismo, para la incorporación del reconocimiento de la seguridad de alimentaria en las legislaciones nacionales, es necesario que se avance en su aplicación efectiva a fin de hacer real el derecho a la alimentación.

    Background: The concept of food security, linked to the attempts to eliminate hunger and poverty in the world, was acquiring different meanings until reaching a current multidimensional definition. So it is necessary to reflect on the evolution of this concept and its relationship with the rights approach. The objective of this work was to describe the historical journey of the concepts of food security and the right to adequate food in general, and in Argentina in particular.

    Methods: Bibliographic review in the databases: Scopus, ScIELO, LILACS of publications on food security and right to food.

    Results: The concept of food security in its evolution incorporated in its definition the right to adequate food, at the same time that this right is incorporated into the legislation of many countries, including Argentina.

    Conclusions: The participation of society as a whole is fundamental for strengthening the institutional capacities of the State. Likewise, for the incorporation of the recognition of food safety in national legislations, it is necessary to advance in its effective application in order to make real the right to food.
