  En esta comunicación hablaremos de cómo se utilizan las metáforas para justificar las guerras. Una metáfora estructura nuestro pensamiento, como defendieron Lakoff y Johnson en su teoría cognitiva de la metáfora. Veremos las ideas de Lakoff sobre cómo se usaron las metáforas para justificar la guerra de Irak de los 90, y trataremos de actualizar esas ideas a la defensa que se hizo de la guerra de Irak a principios de la década de 2000. Veremos también lo que ocultan y muestran las metáforas usadas en este contexto.

  In this paper we will speak about how metaphors are used to justify wars. Metaphors structure our thought, as Lakoff and Johnson proposed in their cognitive theory of metaphor. We will see the Lakoff's ideas about how metaphors were used to justify Irak war in the 90s and we will try to apply these ideas to the justification of Irak war in the 2000s. We will try to figure out what kind of information is hidden by these metaphors and what kind of ideas are suggested by these concrete metaphors.
