Resumen de Disertori italiani in Montenegro: la repressione interna della giustizia militare (1941-1943)

Federico Goddi

  • The ambition of this essay is to examine the correlation between the occupation policies of the Infantry Division Venezia and the Military Court of Cettigne. Through the analysis of the trial records of the military repression, it is possible to track down the actions of the main protagonists during the Italian occupation. The mild military justice towards the Italian soldiers was due to the high commands' awareness of a war with considerable limits of control among the troops, exasperated by the fact that the Balkans, and Montenegro in particular, were a forgotten frontline of the Italian involvement in World War II.
