  • Resumen
    • This paper aims to tell the history of the design and construction of the Mother Church of Favara, a town in the province of Agrigento. It was built between 1892 and 1898 and saw the succession of two different projects drawn up by two separate professionals, the engineer and architect Carmelo Sciuto-Patti, who was initially given the task of reconfiguring the building, and the engineer and architect Achille Viola, who was responsible for the final solution. On the basis of few bibliographical sources and above all through the discovery of new archival materials, consisting of design drawings and documents, it has been possible to outline the design process and the various phases of construction, and also to develop a possible account of the project and some early arguments.
