  • Resumen
    • Roger of Hauteville founded in Troina the first Episcopal seat in Sicily (1080); the cathedral, currently Mother Church, has been built between 1065 and 1080, but its original configuration has been deeply altered in the following centuries. This paper will present the “reforms” accomplished between XVII and XVIII century, the most important of which by the architect Giuseppe Venanzio Marvuglia with regard to the longitudinal section (nave and aisles), the sacristies and the façade. New data gathered from physical investigations and from archives, compared with published researches, disclose now the historic builders yard, the construction's steps, some of the actors involved (customers, architects, workers).
