Resumen de Características de los pacientes con diagnóstico o sospecha de epilepsia que reciben hojas de información

  Antecedentes: la epilepsia es un problema multifactorial, en el que la información transmitida a los familiares tiene una gran importancia. En la unidad de neuropediatría se entregan desde febrero de 2012 hojas de información de diferentes problemáticas, incluida la epilepsia y trastornos con frecuencia asociados o causa de epilepsia. Objetivos: Analizar los motivos de consulta y diagnósticos de los pacientes a los que se entregó la hoja de información de epilepsia en la infancia, y la satisfacción de los padres y tutores. Pacientes y método: se analizan los motivos de consulta y los diagnósticos de los pacientes que recibieron la hoja de información «epilepsia en la infancia» desde febrero de 2012 hasta diciembre de 2014. Se realiza una encuesta a los padres o tutores para conocer su grado de satisfacción respecto a las hojas. Resultados: 658 pacientes recibieron la hoja «epilepsia en la infancia». A 188 se les entregó alguna otra hoja de información. La satisfacción media de todas las hojas entregadas oscila entre 3,5 y 4 sobre 5. Conclusiones: las evaluaciones a través de encuestas de satisfacción son útiles para mejorar la calidad asistencial. Los usuarios se muestran satisfechos con esta herramienta de trabajo.

  Background: Epilepsy is a multifactorial problem, in which information includes epilepsy and its possible causes and associated comorbidities. Fact sheets on different problems, including epilepsy and frequently associated disorders or cause of epilepsy, have been submitted since February 2012 in the Pediatric Neurology service. To analyze the reasons for consultation and diagnosis of the patients to whom the epilepsy fact sheet was given in childhood, and the satisfaction of the parents and guardians with this sheet and the other fact sheets received. Methods: We analyze the reasons for consultation and the diagnoses of patients who received the fact sheet "epilepsy in childhood" from February 2012 to December 2014. A survey is conducted to parents to know their degree of satisfaction regarding to the fact sheets. Results: 658 patients received the "epilepsy in childhood" sheet. They responded to the 374 survey, and of them 188 were given some other information sheet. The most frequent were: Information sheet of the units metabolism and neuropediatrics, Deficient care and Psychomotor retardation / developmental disorder. The average satisfaction of all delivered leaves is between 3.5 and 4 out of 5. Conclusion: Evaluations through satisfaction surveys are useful for improving quality of care. Users are satisfied with the information received through epilepsy fact sheets and problems related to epilepsy.
